A unique breakfast seminar on social business with Muhammad Yunus

Take this special opportunity to listen to Grameen Bank founder Professor Muhammad Yunus speak about his work to create a poverty-free world. Having pioneered micro-financing, which has helped build economically sustainable opportunities for the world’s poor, this work led to Professor Yunus and Grameen Bank earning the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006.

The breakfast seminar is hosted by BookHouse Editions – Dr. Yunus’ Swedish publisher – Sida – which is now expanding its Business for Development, B4D Programme – and Social Entrepreneurship Forum – a Swedish based NGO that promotes and empowers social entrepreneurs in Sweden and abroad.

Sida aims to increase the collaboration with the private sector with the purpose of contributing to the overarching development goals. By recognizing the power of individuals and groups that use their entrepreneurial skills to solve social and environmental problems, Sida intends to support social entrepreneurship that can contribute to the fulfillment of the development goals.

Following an introduction by Sida a discussion with Professor Yunus, facilitated by SE Forum Chairman, Shawn Westcott, will include how social entrepreneurship is creating the means to empower individuals and communities around the world. Professor Yunus will also speak about the lessons learned in his latest book, Socialt företagande, BookHouse 2010 (Building Social Business).
